The disclosure describes a device, known in the sawmill industry as a board or table feeder, used to separate and move laterally, one by one, pieces of wood that have at least two parallel sides which have been cut or sawed. These pieces of wood are first conveyed side by side to the device, in a single layer, by means of numerous conveyor belts which carry them sideways. They are then grabbed individually upstream from the device by a mechanism comprising a grapple mounted on a rotary drum which deposits them downstream one by one by means of acceleration conveyors onto a group of receiving conveyors equipped with cleats, thereby ensuring a uniform and controlled supply to a manufacturing process.
La divulgation décrit un appareil, connu dans l'industrie du sciage sous le nom d'alimentateur de planches ou de plateaux, utilisé pour séparer et déplacer latéralement, une à une, des pièces de bois ayant au moins deux faces parallèles sciées ou découpées. Ces pièces sont d'abord transportées côte à côte jusqu'à l'appareil, sur une seule couche, au moyen de chaînes porteuses multiples qui les déplacent transversalement. Elles sont ensuite saisies individuellement en amont de l'appareil par un mécanisme constitué d'un grappin, monté sur un élément rotatif qui les dépose une à une en aval, au moyen de chaînes d'accélération, sur un groupe de chaînes de réception munies de taquets, assurant ainsi l'alimentation uniforme contrôlée d'un procédé de fabrication.
