(57) Abstract The invention relates to an apparatus intended to be used in connection with a paper or a board manufacturing machine to sever a web by a tape. In accordance with the invention, the tape (28) is made adhere to a reel drum (9) and wound spirally around said drum, whereby the tape (28) severs the web. The apparatus comprises a card holder (5) by which the tape is fed in between the Pope cylinder (8) and reel drum (9), and a swing guide and tape cutting device on the opposite side of the winder.
