- 1 - Abstract: In apparatus for storing and supplying sheet-like materials, the materials are temporarily stored in a pile and then removed one by one for transferring to a next step. Guide members are provided for guiding the materials in the vertical direction and a collecting and moving device is used for transferring the materials. A pile setting device is provided beneath the collecting and moving device for receiving the materials released from the latter. A device is provided for pressing-down the materials by its own weight, located beneath the collecting and moving device and above the setting device and having a pair of confronting press-down claws projectable into a downward transfer passage for the materials when a signal is generated upon detecting that the number of materials on the setting device has decreased to less than a predetermined setting.
