ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention provides apparatus for processing an endless web which includes a roll rotat- ably mounted on a pair of carriages, the carriages being movably mounted on a pair of tracks, lifting means for lifting one end of the roll off of its associated carriage so that a web can be removed from or placed on the roll, and support means including a movable support for supporting the roll at a support position disposed intermediate of the ends of the roll, the support means being adapted to support the roll with said one end off of its associated carriage so that a web can be removed from or positioned around the roll.
