ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention provides in an apparatus for supporting a catalyst carrier of the type in which the catalyst carrier with a surrounding casing is supported at its both end surfaces from outside thereof via respective cushion members, the improvement in which the cushion member at least on one end surface of the carrier comprises a first cushion member of relatively high bulk density, the inner side of which is in contact with a corresponding end surface of the catalyst carrier and a second cushion member of relatively low bulk density, the outer side of which is in contact with the first cushion member.
