ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A mirror holder has two parallel sides which secure a deviating mirror and a prism mirror. The sides also contain lamps for illuminating the viewing object. The optical path from the prism mirror is deflected by means of the deviating mirror into a positive lens, which is adjustable held in a lens barrel. By means of this apparatus, it is possible to inspect for contamination and/or damage in the fitted state the read/write heads of data carrier disks for EDP installations. Fig. 3
