The invention relates to the improvement of an apparatus for the quick inflationof an airbag, having a compressed gas tank (1) and a propellant charge container(2) whose pyrotechnical content (3) forms upon ignition a propellant gas, and also having a breakaway disk (4) which can be blasted off upon the ignition of the propellant charge and which after it is broken off releases to the airbag the entire flow cross section between the compressed-gas tank (1) and the propellant gas container (2). For the acceleration and control of the inflation it is proposed that the breakaway disk (4) have an opening (5) through which propellant gas can flow immediately after ignition but before the breakaway disk (4) is blasted off. The breakaway disk (4) is configured such and the opening (5) so disposed that in spite of the opening (5) the breakaway disk (4) selves as a hermetic closure of the compressed-gas tank.

L'invention a trait à l'amélioration d'un appareil pour le gonflage rapide d'un coussin pneumatique de sécurité, ayant un réservoir de gaz comprimé (1) et un contenant de charge propulsive (2) dont le contenu pyrotechnique (3) forme, à l'allumage, un gaz propulsif, et ayant aussi un disque brisable (4) qui peut être détruit à l'allumage de la charge propulsive et qui, une fois brisé, dégage entièrement l'orifice d'alimentation du coussin pneumatique entre le réservoir de gaz comprimé (1) et le contenant de gaz propulsif (2). Pour l'accélération et le contrôle du gonflage, il est proposé que le disque brisable (4) ait un orifice (5) par lequel le gaz propulsif puisse sortir immédiatement après l'allumage, mais avant la rupture du disque brisable (4). Le disque brisable (4) est configuré de telle façon et l'orifice (5) ainsi placé qu'en dépit de l'orifice (5), le disque brisable (4) sert de bouchon hermétique du réservoir de gaz comprimé.
