- 1 - Abstract Two gas-permeable walls (39 and 40), which bound a circular filter bed (38), are disposed in a housing (33). The walls (39 and 40) extend downwards in a taper together and are inclined upwards towards the central axis (A) of the filter bed (38) so that the filter bed (38) on the one hand represents a ring becoming narrower upwards and on the other hand decreases in thickness (b) downwards. Projecting from above into the housing (33) is a nozzle tube (46), the nozzles (47) of which are directed against the inner wall (40). In order to regene- rate the dust-laden filter bed (38), compressed air is blown intermittently through the nozzle tube (46) while at the same time the nozzle tube (46) is set in rotation by a motor (45). The accumulations of dust contained in the filter bed are ejected in agglomerated form through the outer wall (39) and fall down into the region of a worm conveyor (44) by which they are discharged.
