An apparatus (21) comprising a flexible elongate member (31) having proximal and distal extremities (31a, 31b) and having a passageway (51) extending from the proximal extremity to the distal extremity. A handle (33) is coupled to the proximal extremity of the flexible elongate member for introducing the distal extremity of the flexible elongate member into a natural body opening of a body. The flexible elongate member has a length so that when the distal extremity is in the vicinity of a wall forming a cavity accessible from the opening the proximal extremity is outside of the body. A needle (61) is disposed in the passageway and is accessible from the proximal extremity of the flexible elongate member for movement from a retracted position disposed in the passegeway to an extended position disposed out of the passegeway for penetrating the wall. The needle has a distal end portion (61b) provided with at least one opening (71) and a passage (63) extends through the needle to the opening. A supply assembly (27) including at least one reservoir (92) of at least one nonaqueous solution capable of forming a nonbiodegradable solid in the body is coupled to the proximal extremity of the flexible elongate member for introducing the nonaqueous solution through the passage and the at least one opening in the needle into the wall. The nonbiodegradable solid forms from the nonaqueous solution in the wall to treat the wall.
Cette invention concerne un appareil (21) qui comprend une élément (31) allongé flexible possédant des extrémités proximale et distale (31a, 31b) reliées entre elles par un passage (51). Un manche (33) est couplé à l'extrémité proximale de cet élément allongé flexible de façon à permettre l'introduction de l'extrémité distale dudit élément dans une voie naturelle du corps. La longueur de l'élément allongé flexible est prévue de sorte que l'extrémité proximale reste en dehors du corps lorsque l'extrémité distale est située au voisinage d'une paroi formant une cavité accessible par la voie naturelle. Une aiguille (61) prend position dans le passage et est accessible à partir de l'extrémité proximale de l'élément allongé flexible de façon à permettre un mouvement passant d'une position escamotée dans le passage à une position déployée hors du couloir afin de pénétrer dans la paroi. Cette aiguille possède une section distale (61b) dotée d'au moins une ouverture (71) et un passage (63) dans l'aiguille débouche sur cette ouverture. Un ensemble de fournitures (27) comprenant au moins un réservoir (92) d'au moins une solution non aqueuse capable de former une masse non biodégradable dans le corps est couplé à l'extrémité proximale de l'élément allongé flexible de façon à permettre l'introduction de la solution non aqueuse, par le passage et l'ouverture (au moins une) de l'aiguille, dans la paroi. La masse non biodégradable se forme à partir de la solution non aqueuse dans la paroi de façon à traiter ladite paroi.
