ABSTRACT The invention relates to an apparatus for the treatment of liquids, in particular for the biological purification of household and industrial sewage containing organic contaminations. It may also be used for the aeration and sedimentation of liquids. In the circular, quadratic or elongated oblong basin for receiving the liquid, a path recurring in itself is formed by means of one or more partition walls. For moving the liquid in a horizontal or horizontal and vertical direction, propellers or rotors with a horizontal or vertical axle are used. For the aeration of the liquid one or more aerators with a horizontal or vertical axle or one or more fixed air blowers are applied. One or more secondary sedimentators in a longitudinal or circular arrangement which are provided with oblique lamallae, are connected directly to the object or are assembled therewith.
