Apparatus for triggering an avalanche or the like by using an explosive charge (3) which is brought into an avalanche slope and which is detonated therein. The explosive charge (3) is thereby located in a tube (1) which is closed at one end in which there is furthermore arranged a propelling charge (2) with which the explosive charge (3) can be brought from the tube (1) into the avalanche slope (Fig. 1).
