ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention relates to an apparatus for veterinary obstetrics in the form of a device adapted to be placed against the body of the dam, with an adaptor to be applied to the dam, a bar on the side of the adaptor remote from the dam and adapted to be attached to the adaptor, and a tensioning device arranged upon the bar and comprising hooks for the accommodation of leg-slings for the new born animal. In order to avoid injury to the dam below the vagina, as a result of the direct action of the adaptor, the adaptor is mounted pivotably at one end of the bar.
