ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Apparatus for wiping a vehicle in a carwash system of the type wherein a plurality of wiping strips carried by an endless chain are drawn across a vehicle. The improvement wherein various of the strips are laterally offset with respect to the endless chain. This arrangement enables narrower less bulky strips to be used which have greater flexibility to wipe all areas of the vehicle. The path of sweep of the strips is also increased.
