A riser cyclone separator has been invented for rapidly separating catalyst from cracked hydrocarbon vapors in a fluid catalytic cracking process. The riser cyclone is provided with an annular port for drawing stripping gas into the riser cyclone to separate entrained catalyst and vent stripper gas from the regenerator vessel.
