Abstract According to the present invention therefore, there is provided, an apparatus for the single or multiple wrapping of a stack or the like of goods, with a band, said stack being stationary relative to the apparatus during the wrapping operation, said band being dispensed from a wrapping apparatus which orbits around the stack, characterised in that the wrapping apparatus has a wrapping arm consisting of two elements, one element of said wrapping arm being rotatably mounted and being adapted to be driven by a motor, a second element of said wrapping arm being fixedly attached substantially at right angles to said first element, whereby the two elements of said wrapping arm are provided with conveying means for a band, and that on the said first element of said wrapping arm there is mounted a band supply reel, the wrapping arm being adjustable in one direction relative to said stack, and that band securing means for binding and cutting the band are provided which are adjustable in the same aforesaid direction.
