A series of non-opaque containers, each containing a fluid of different viscosity, is used at ambient room temperature to mimic the flow characteristics of reference fluids at pre-determined non-ambient temperatures. Each container may contain a ball, such that on inverting the container, the balls are drawn by gravity through the fluids at different rates, the rates demonstrating the viscosity of the reference fluid.
