An apparatus for producing continuously electrolyzed water having an electrolytic cell including in the interior thereof a plate electrode serving as one of an anode and a cathode. A diaphragm box having a diaphragm is disposed in the electrolytic cell, the interior of the diaphragm box being in fluid communication with the electrolytic cell only through the diaphragm. The diaphragm box has in the interior thereof a further plate electrode serving as the other of the anode and cathode. A DC voltage is applied between the plate electrode serving as the anode and the plate electrode serving as the cathode. An adsorbing treatment device is provided to remove surface active agents and organic substances contained in contaminated water by using the adsorbing action of active charcoal. A microfilter is provided together with a device for adding inorganic reagents beneficial to the human body to the water.
