An apparatus suitable for extraction of articles frozen in moulds in a freezing machine. Abstract An apparatus for extraction of articles (4) frozen in moulds (2) in a freezing machine, comprising means (14, 15, 32, 33, 34, 37) for insertion of the retaining means (5, 6) in the moulds (2) for engage- ment with the articles (4). Said apparatus further comprises means (14, 15, 32, 33, 34, 37) for lifting the retaining means (5, 6) for extraction of the articles (4). The retaining means for each mould (2) consist of at least two plate section (5, 6) designed for insertion in a mould (2) along the inner surfaces of two side walls (8, 9) of the latter facing each other. The plate sections (5 and 6) ensure that the subject article (4) is firmly gripped for extraction. (Fig. 4).
