The invention relates to a glazing unit which accepts a broad angle range of incident daylight and redirects it to provide natural diffuse light deep into buildings and spaces with little associated glare. The unit comprises a horizontal diffuser, which provides uniform diffused lighting and a vertical director, which directs the natural light above the horizontal plane in a low angle band. The unit is passive, but able to accept a broad range of incident angles without the complexity of motorised setups.
