Abstract The present apparatus (1) can be fitted to a conventional trip sewing machine (2) and consists essentially of an upper frame, which comprises a small shaft needle unit (8) with respective driving gears, and a lower structure, which comprises a shuttle rotating sewing hook unit (11). The upper frame and the lower structure are situated adjacent the working head of a sewing machine (2) to cooperate with it so that double, parallel seams can simultaneously be run. The small shaft needle unit (8) and the shuttle rotating sewing hook unit (11) are driven through secondary shafts (7,10), from a main driving shaft (3) of the sewing machine by belt and direct coupling respectively.
