An apparatus (15) to produce "green" brick having a tumbled appearance. The apparatus (15) receives a column (11) of extruded clay that has at least one longitudinal edge chamfered. The column (11) is transversely cut to form slugs (12). The slugs (12) pass through the apparatus (15) and are deformed thereby by a plurality of blades (25). The slugs (12) are again transversely cut to form individual bricks.
