Abstract of the Disclosure Apparatus for the useful recovery of heat from waste gases of substantial heat value which would otherwise be burned without the recovery of the heat, comprising a special burner head attached to a burner pipe, with a smaller diameter pipe passing axially through the burner pipe. Fuel gas or steam is applied through the axial pipe to a first plurality of nozzles arranged on the surface of a cone, spaced circumferentially around the axis of the head, and directed outwardly at a selected angle with the axis. The first set of nozzles lead into a corresponding second set of larger diameter second nozzles. There are longitudinal, circumferentially-spaced bores, which intersect the second nozzles, through which the waste gases are aspir- ated, and are sprayed out in the form of a conical sheet, with the fuel gas or steam, into a burning space, such as a furnace, wherein the heat liberated by the combustion can be recovered. The velocity of flow of fuel gas or steam through the first nozzles must be at least .25 mach in order to provide suffi- cient lowering of the pressure in the second nozzles to aspirate the waste gases.
