ABSTRACT An apparatus for sealing the gap between the opening of a container and a supply pipe which passes movably through said opening. The apparatus includes an intermediate tubular assembly that can be introduced into the gap and sealed off in a radial direction by lower and upper inflatable seals which respectively bear against the opening and against the supply pipe. The upper seal, which is oriented inwardly towards the supply pipe, is located on the intermediate tubular assembly above the lower seal, and the intermediate tubular assembly is penetrated in the area between the upper and the lower seals by at least one secondary opening that serves as a connection for a suction and/or a pressure line.
