ABSTRACT Application of 2-methoxy-4-[4,5-dihydro-2-imidazolyl(or 2-oxazolyl)amino] - 5-halobenzamide derivatives in the treatment of disorders of cognitlve function. Sociéte Anonyme known as; L A B O R A T O I R E S D E L A G R A N G E The invention relates to the use of benzamide derivatives of formula: Image (I) in which: - A represents a diethylaminoethyl group or a group of formula: Image where R is a C1-C3 alkyl, allyl, cyclopropylmethyl or cyclohexenylmethyl group, - X represents a chlorine or bromine atom, and - Z represents an NH group or an oxygen atom, with the following condition: when Z is an oxygen atom, A is a diethylaminoethyl group, and of their pharmacologically acceptable salts, for the preparation of medicinal products which are useful in the treatment and prevention of disorders of cognitive function.
