A method of attacking and removing microbial slime in slime covered surfaces and maintaining a slime-free surface as in exposed cooling tower surfaces and in waste water treatment and paper making. This method comprises utilizing an enzyme blend in 2 to 100 parts per million (ppm) of beta-glucanase, alpha-amylase and protease. Such enzyme blends have been found specifically to digest microbial slime and reduce microbial attachment and biofilm. A specific combination of polysaccharide degrading enzymes is a ratio of 2 parts beta-glucanase to 1 alpha-amylase to 1 protease utilized in 2-100 parts per million. Broadly, the alpha-amylase must be at least 1 and the protease may vary from .5 to 1 part.
Méthode pour attaquer et éliminer la pellicule biologique recouvrant certaines surfaces et prévenir la formation de cette pellicule sur les surfaces de colonnes de refroidissement et dans les installations de traitement des eaux usées et de fabrication du papier. La méthode consiste à employer un mélange d'enzymes dans 2 à 100 parties par million (ppm) de bêta-glucanase, d'alpha-amylase et de protéase. On a constaté que ces mélanges d'enzymes digéraient de façon spécifique la pellicule biologique, réduisant ainsi la fixation microbienne et le biofilm. Une combinaison spécifique d'enzymes dégradant les polysaccharides est représentée par un rapport de 2 parties de bêta-glucanase à 1 partie d'alpha-amylase et à 1 partie de protéase, dans 2-100 parties par million. En gros, l'alpha-amylase doit être au moins d'une partie, la protéase pouvant varier de 0,5 à 1 partie.
