One or more databases for use in computer program application support and maintenance. An inventory of computer program applications ("application inventory") is arranged in a multilevel hierarchy having descending levels. Line of business level, application level and technical module level. A support and maintenance work authorization and authorized workgroup are set at the line of business level, and requests for work are set at the application level and below. Automatically relates business functions to computer programs to determine performance of applications within business functions. The databases also include timesheets, each timesheet having time data recorded by a skilled person in a workgroup for work on a ticket. Computer system and methods utilizing the databases are also provided.
