(57) ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE This publication discloses an applicator apparatus for the coating of webs, particularly of paper webs, said apparatus having the application roll replaced by a glide shoe (8) and a wire (6). The wire (6) passes over two idler rolls (7) and a glide shoe (8). The glide shoe (8) is pressed against the backing roll (1) by means of a pressurized loading hose (93, which provides for the compensation of the bending in the glide shoe (8) and the backing roll (1). The web (5) to be coated passes through the nip formed between the backing roll (1) and the wire (6), and the coating mix lifted by the wire (6) from the coating mix pan is adhered to the surface of the web (5) in said nip. The invention aims to achieve a stable flow of the coating mix in the nip by reducing the averaged radius of curvature of the surfaces facing each other in the nip. (Figure 3)
