A method for applying to articles (10) such as containers, segments (22) of sheet material, such as labels, which are elastic. Each segment has a leading end and a trailing end which are not connected to one another to form a sleeve except by adhesive. Such segment (22) is applied to articles (10) in stretched condition such that it will shrink to conform to the surface of the article (10) when, for example, the article (10) shrinks. Also the resulting articles (10) are novel and are claimed.
Cette invention concerne un procédé d'application de segments (22) de feuilles d'un matériau élastique, tel que des étiquettes, sur des articles (10) comme, par exemple, des conteneurs. Chaque segment possède un bord avant et un bord arrière qui ne sont pas connectés l'un à l'autre, sauf lors de l'application d'un adhésif, et qui permettent de former un manchon. Chaque segment (22) est appliqué à un article (10) dans des conditions d'extension de manière à ce qu'il puisse ensuite se rétracter et s'adapter à la surface dudit article (10), par exemple lors du rétrécissement de ce même article. Cette invention concerne également les nouveaux articles (10) ainsi obtenus.
