S P E C I F I C A T I O N IMPROVED APRON ASSEMBLY FOR A CROP MATERIAL ROLL FORMING MACHINE ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A crop material roll forming machine, such as a large round baler, has a mobile frame adapted to travel across a field, a roll forming region extending between opposite sides of the frame and an improved apron assembly supported by the frame for facilitating formation of a crop material roll at the region. The apron assembly includes endless flexible members movably mounted to the opposite sides of the frame and a plurality of elongated members for engaging crop material at the region to effect rolling of the material into a roll thereof. Also, the apron assembly incorporates a plurality of means in the form of interfitted male and female parts which position the elongated members between and in transverse relationship to the flexible members at corresponding spaced apart locations therealong. One of the respective parts is rigidly secured to a side of each one of the flexible members which faces toward the other flexible member, while the other of the parts is rigidly secured to one of the opposite ends of the elongated members. The parts respectively extend from and interfit together between the respective facing flexible member sides and adjacent elongated member opposite ends. The interfitted parts are clamped together by fastening means in the form of bolts so as to provide a readily detachable, but substantially rigid, connection located therebetween.
