The present invention relates to a raisable floor apparatus for a pool. The raisable floor apparatus includes a platform. The raisable floor apparatus includes a means for raising and lowering the platform to make at least a portion of the pool shallower or deeper. The raisable floor apparatus includes a guide mechanism for guiding the platform as the platform is raised or lowered. The guide mechanism has vertically extending racks and pinions, with each pinion engaging one of the racks.
