Abstract A treatment agent for wood and wooden articles, which contains a low-molecular-weight 1,3-butadiene polymer, containing amino groups, as an organic bonding agent: (I) the said bonding agent having a double-bond content corresponding to an iodine number of at least 200 [g iodine/100 g], of which a double-bond content corresponding to an iodine number of at least 100, comprises cis-1,4 structural elements of the 1,3-butadiene polymer; (2) the content of amino groups amounts to at least 50 mg-atom of nitrogon/100 g of bonding agent; (3) the basic polymer fur the 1,3-butadiene polymer carrying the amino groups has at least 70 mole per cent of butadiene units and a molecular weight (Mn) of between 500 and 6000. Conventional additives, such as wood-protecting insecticides and fungicides, can also be present.
