A fertilizer composition containing an alkaline earth nitrate, such as calcium nitrate or magnesium nitrate is produced by the scrubbing of hot combustion gases to remove sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides from the gas. After removal of sulfur dioxide from a gas stream, a humidified gas stream containing NOx is treated to convert the NOx to nitric acid, and the nitric acid-containing humidified gas stream is contacted with an alkaline earth compound which reacts with nitric acid to form an alkaline earth nitrate in an aqueous effluent, which effluent comprises a fertilizer composition.
Divulgation du procédé de fabrication d'un engrais contenant un nitrate d'alcalino-terreux, comme le nitrate de calcium ou de magnésium. Le procédé consiste à laver les gaz chauds de la combustion pour en extraire l'anhydride sulfureux et les oxydes d'azote. Après l'élimination de l'anhydride sulfureux, un flux gazeux humidifié contenant des NOx est traité afin de convertir le NOx en acide nitrique. Le flux gazeux humidifié contenant de l'acide nitrique est ensuite mis en contact avec un composé alcalino-terreux qui réagit avec l'acide nitrique pour former un nitrate d'alcalino-terreux dans un effluent aqueux. Cet effluent renferme une composition d'engrais.
