Disclosed are aqueous, single-package or two-package coating compositions having pH above 7.0 that contain as the binder a polyurea which is the product of a polyisocyanate and an anionic amino polymer synthesized in water from olefinically unsaturated monomers including primary or secondary amine containing monomers, the monomers being substantially free of acid groups. The polymerization of the amino polymer is carried out in the presence of an azo initiator dispersed in water by neutralization of acid groups present on the initiator.

L'invention concerne des compositions de revêtement aqueuses en une ou en deux parties, d'un pH supérieur à 7,0 contenant, en tant que liant, une polyurée, laquelle est le produit d'un polyisocyanate et d'un amino-polymère anionique synthétisé dans de l'eau à partir de monomères à insaturation oléfinique comprenant des monomères contenant une amine primaire ou secondaire, les monomères étant sensiblement exempts de groupes acides. La polymérisation de l'amino-polymère est effectuée en présence d'un initiateur azo dispersé dans de l'eau par neutralisation de groupes acides présents dans l'initiateur.
