The present invention provides an aqueous curable resin composition which can provide a coating film having an excellent finished external appearance, and is excellent in coating workability (drip property), and an aqueous coating composition using the aqueous curable resin composition. The aqueous curable resin composition of the present invention includes a (meth)acrylic-modified polyester resin, (meth)acrylic resin particles having an average particle diameter of 0.1 to 2 µm, a melamine resin, and water.
