An aqueous binder for making an electrode is provided. The aqueous binder includes water, a polymeric alcohol, a non-polymeric alcohol, a water-soluble resin, a drying moderator, and optionally an anti-foaming agent. The aqueous binder typically includes mostly water such that minimal toxic substances are evolved when the aqueous binder is used to produce electrodes. Electrodes and fuel cells assembled using the aqueous binder are also described.

L'invention a trait à un agent de liaison aqueux permettant de produire une électrode. Ledit agent de liaison contient de l'eau, un alcool polymère, un alcool non polymère, une résine hydrosoluble, un modérateur de séchage, et éventuellement un agent anti-moussant. L'agent de liaison selon l'invention renferme généralement surtout de l'eau, de façon que la quantité de substances toxiques produites lorsque l'agent de liaison aqueux est utilisé pour produire des électrodes soit réduite au minimum. L'invention concerne également des électrodes et des piles à combustible faisant appel à l'agent de liaison aqueux selon l'invention.
