Aqueous emulsion copolymers of (meth)acrylates of long-chain alcohols in continuous aqueous phase which contain as storable disperse phase copolymers of the following monomer components: at least 50% by weight and preferably at least 60% by weight (meth)acrylates of C16-30 alcohols 0 to 25% by weight and preferably 5 to 10% by weight (meth)acrylates of alcohols containing no more than 8 carbon atoms 0.5 to 40% by weight and preferably 1 to 25% by weight olefinically unsaturated mono- and/or dicarboxylic acids or anhydrides containing more than 10 carbon atoms. The invention also relates to the use of these aqueous emulsion copolymers for depressing the pour or flow points of hydrocarbon mixtures, particularly crude oil or petro- leum fractions.
