The invention relates to aqueous emulsions of polyisocyanates comprising at least one cellulose ether dissolved in water, and at least one organic polyisocyanate. The invention also relates to a process for preparing aqueous emulsions as defined hereinbefore, comprising dissolving the cellulose ether in water, and then adding the polyisocyanate at room temperature, with a high stirring speed, higher than 8,000 revolutions per minute and for short times, within the range of from 5 to 60 seconds.
