Asphaltic materials are provided with increased resistance to damage from water, oil and weather by a process which comprises treating said materials with an aqueous composition containing: (A) from about 0.1 to 4% by weight, on a 100% solids basis, of an aqueous solution or self-dispersed emulsion or dispersion of a copolymer which is a reaction product of monomers containing fluorinated groups, cationic groups and nonionic groups, optionally (B) an effective amount of a penetration assistant, and (C) water to make up 100%.

Cette invention a trait à des produits asphaltiques résistant mieux aux dégâts occasionnés par l'eau, l'huile et certaines conditions météorologiques. Ce procédé permettant de les protéger consiste à les traiter avec une composition aqueuse contenant, (A), d'environ 0,1 à 4 % en pourcentage pondéral, par rapport à la totalité des matières solides, d'une solution aqueuse ou d'une émulsion auto-dispersée ou encore d'une dispersion d'un copolymère qui est un produit de réaction de monomères renfermant des groupes fluorés, des groupes cationiques et des groupes non ioniques, (B), éventuellement, une quantité efficace d'un agent facilitant la pénétration et (C) de l'eau pour arriver au 100 %.
