ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Improved ultra low volume herbicidal aqueous com- positions containing water soluble herbicides, such as 2,4-D amine salts and aliphatic polyhydric alcohols with 2 to 4 hydroxyl groups attached to the aliphatic chain or a polyalkylene glycol with water as a solvent less than 50 parts by weight. The herbicidal aqueous compositions repre- sent an improvement over the compositions of the prior art by displaying low volatility and significantly enhanced herbicidal activity, requiring a lesser amount of active material. The compositions also permit better penetration of the weed canopy and enhanced penetration and transloca- tion of the active material into leaves of the weed being treated.
