23443-435 Abstract The invention relates to flame resistant, aqueous hydraulic fluids. The fluids comprise 10-40% by weight of anionic surfactant or surfactant mixtures. The anionic surfactant may be, for example, an alkylbenzenesulphonate of the formula R(R1)C6H3SO3M in which R denotes an alkyl radical having 8 to 20 carbon atoms, R1,denotes hydrogen or alkyl having 1 to 10 carbon atoms, the total number of carbon atoms of R and R1, being at least 8, and M denotes Na, K, ammonium or alkylammonium. These novel hydraulic fluids are ecologically safe and have good lubricating properties at low concentrations of active ingredients.
