A method of making an emulsion ink is provided. The method includes mixing an ink precursor and processing the ink precursor in a homogenizer to form an emulsion ink. The ink precursor includes a pigment, water, a film forming polymer, an oil and, preferably, a pH dependent thickener and a base.

L'invention se rapporte à un procédé de fabrication d'une encre se présentant sous forme d'émulsion. Le procédé consiste à mélanger un précurseur d'encre et à traiter ce dernier dans un homogénéisateur afin d'obtenir une encre sous forme d'émulsion. Le précurseur d'encre comprend un pigment, de l'eau, un polymère formant un film, une huile et, de préférence, un épaississant agissant en fonction du niveau du pH ainsi qu'une base.
