The invention concerns aqueous liquid bleaching compositions comprising a hypochlorite salt and a quaternary ammonium salt characterised in that the ammonium salt has the general formula: R1R2R3R4N+ X-, wherein R1 is a C10-C20 alkyl group, each of R2, R3 and R4 independently is a C1-C3 alkyl group and X is an inorganic anion and the composition comprises a thickening system comprised of amine oxide surfactant and fatty acid.
