A disinfectant which contains olanexidine in such a concentration that the disinfectant shows an effective bactericidal activity and which is reduced in side effects such as skin irritation. The disinfectant comprises an aqueous solution which contains olanexidine and gluconic acid, the amount of the latter being at least equimolar with the former, and contains substantially none of acids other than gluconic acid and of salts of the acids (other than gluconic acid).

L'invention concerne un désinfectant contenant de l'olanexidine, la concentration en olanexidine étant telle que ce désinfectant présente une activité bactéricide efficace. Les effets secondaires dudit désinfectant, tels que l'irritation cutanée, sont en outre réduits. Le désinfectant selon l'invention comprend une solution aqueuse contenant de l'olanexidine et de l'acide gluconique, la quantité d'acide gluconique étant au moins équimolaire avec la quantité d'olanexidine. Par ailleurs, la solution ne contient pratiquement pas d'autre acide que l'acide gluconique, ni de sels d'acide (autres que les sels d'acide gluconique).
