Abstract of the Disclosure 1. Aqueous vehicle solutions or dispersions and aqueous coating mate- rials containing these. 2.1. Aqueous coating materials for cathodic deposition, which led to coatings with good application properties, frequently had a poor bath stability. This is to be improved. 2.2. Aqueous solutions or dispersions of vehicles are prepared, which contain 95 to 50% by weight of an aqueous solution and dispersion of neutralized basic film-forming resins with a solvent content of more than 4% by weight and a minimum film forming temperature of less than 30°C in admixture with 5 to 50% by weight of an aqueous solution or dispersion of neutralized basic film-forming resins with a solvent content of less than 32 by weight and a minimum film-forming tempera- ture of at least C8 the difference between the minimum film form- ing temperatures of the two dispersions being at least 10°C. 2.3. Cathodic deposition of aqueous coating materials.
