ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An aqueous, pumpable stable suspension of a water- insoluble silicate that is capable of binding calcium ions, the suspension comprising, based on its total weight, A) as the cal- cium-binding silicate, 0.5 to 80 wt.% of a finely divided water- insoluble synthetic compound which contains combined water and has the general formula (Cat2/nO)x ? Me2O3 ? (SIO2)y (I) wherein Cat is a cation interchangeabe with calcium and having a valence of n, x is a number from 0.7 to 1.5, Me is boron or alu- minum and y is a number from 0.8 to 6, and B) as a dispersing ingredient, 0.5 to 6 wt.% of a mixture of at least two alkylpolyethoxylates (ethoxylated fatty alcohols) of the formula R - (OCH2CH2)n - OH (II) wherein R is a C10-15 alkyl with a maximum 25% degree of branch- ing, i.e. maximum 25% of the ethoxylated fatty alcohol exhibit a simple methyl branching, n is 3-5.5, preferably 3 to 5, moles of ethylene oxide in the case of a first component, and n is 5 to 7, preferably 5.75-7, moles of ethylene oxide in the case of a sec- ond component. The suspension can be used for the manufacture of powdery cleaning agents and detergents.
