ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Novel compounds of this invention are tetrazole, acylhydroxylamine, hydroxymethylketone and amide derivatives of unsaturated fatty acids which are selective inhibitors of the enzymes lipoxygenase and cyclooxygenase involved in the production of pain, inflammation, bronchoconstriction and allergic reactions, having the formulae: (1) Image (2) (3) and the pharmaceutically acceptable, non-toxic salts wherein A and B each independently C=C or C=C D, E and F are each independently C-C, C=C or C?C Z is CH3, CH2CH3, -CH2CH2CH3, CH2CH2CH2CH3; and X is 1-H-tetrazol-5-yl, C(O)NHOH, C(O)CH2OH or CONH2, which compounds are beneficial in the treatment of a number of inflammatory and/or painful conditions and allergic reactions.
