ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The use of chopped aramid fibers, i.e. discrete discontinuous relatively short fibers, in conjunction with an adhesion system to get a higher reinforcement of the rubber is disclosed. The compression modulus of the resulting rubber composition is almost double that of what would be expected based upon results obtained with polyester, nylon, rayon or glass fibers.
