A B S T R A C T The invention offers a simple and economical mounting possibility for gas burners (7) in molded parts (5) consisting of a brittle-friable material, such as glass, glass-ceramic or ceramic, by means of which gas burners (7) can be mounted without stresses, in a leakage-proof and gastight fashion, in cooking surfaces of such a material without having to impose a restriction to a special appliance and/or a specific burner type. The molded part (5), consisting of a brittle-friable material, is the sole support for the gas burner (7) or the gas burners (7). (Figure 1)
