An attachment structure for a coated abrasive finishing article (10) such as a disc having a central aperture (16) formed therein. The attachment structure may be in a form to be reused indefinitely and in such form includes a nut (18) having a flange (20) engaging the abrasive particles on the disc and a body extending through the central aperture and terminating in an externally threaded shank (26) adapted to be received by the female threads on a drive member (30). The apparatus may also be in a form to be disposable along with the spent disc. In such form, the apparatus includes a similar nut formed of plastic material which is secured in place on the abrasive disc by a retention member (80) such a washer which is secured to the body of the nut by an interference fit on the side of the disc opposite the abrasive particles.
La présente invention concerne une structure de fixation destinée à un article de finissage abrasif revêtu tel qu'un disque présentant une ouverture centrale. La structure de fixation peut avoir une forme qui lui permet d'être réutilisé indéfiniment, et comprend sous cette forme une gorge présentant un volet qui vient en prise avec les particules abrasives de la surface du disque, et un corps qui s'étend à travers l'ouverture centrale et se termine en une tige à filets externes conçue pour être reçue par les filets femelle qui se trouvent sur un élément d'entraînement. Le dispositif peut également se présenter sous une forme qui lui permet d'être jetable, tout comme le disque usé. Sous cette forme, le dispositif comprend une gorge similaire formée de matière plastique qui est fixée dans sa position sur le disque abrasif par un élément de retenue tel qu'une rondelle qui est fixée au corps de la gorge par un ajustement serré sur le côté du disque opposé aux particules abrasives.
