An arc-interrupting compound, such as melamine, and to a method of extinguishing an arc by disposing the composition along the path of the arc, for contacting the arc. In one embodiment, the binder, or at least a portion of the binder, is a polymer that contains a functional group that binds to a coupling agent that is included in the arc-extinguishing composition. The coupling agent ties the polymeric binder to the arc-extinguishing compound, e.g., melamine, to provide new and unexpected physical strength and stability to the composition. In this embodiment, the molded composition, including the arc-interrupting compound coupled to the binder, maintains excellent arc- interrupting capability, while providing chemical stability and electrical insulating properties as well as unexpected physical strength.
L~invention concerne un composé d~interruption d~arc, telle la mélamine et un procédé d~extinction d~un arc en disposant la composition le long de la trajectoire de l~arc, pour contacter l~arc. Dans un mode de réalisation de cette invention, l~AEillère ou au moins une partie est un polymère qui contient un groupe fonctionnel qui est attaché à un agent de couplage qui est inclus dans la composition d~extinction de l~arc. L~agent de couplage attache le liant polymérique avec le composé d~extinction de l~arc exemple la mélamine, pour donner une nouvelle force physique inattendue et la stabilité à la composition. Dans ce mode de réalisation, une composition moulée comprenant un composé d~interruption d~arc couplé au liant, garde une excellente capacité d~interruption d~arc, tout en donnant des propriétés de stabilité chimique et d'insolation électriques aussi bien qu~une force physique inattendue.
